What accommodations will be used?
|
The following
properties (many of which do not except tour groups) will be used:
 |
An 18th
century winemaking chateau that has been planted with vines for more
than 3 centuries. Located just a few miles from Margaux, the property
has been recently refurbished to capture its original character and
magnificence. Comforts of the 21st century have been added
such as modern bathrooms and a swimming pool. Wine-Knows has leased the
entire chateau. |

 |
Charming 17th century farm
that has been cleverly converted to a boutique hotel in
the Dordogne Valley. Totally renovated, the inn offers attractively
decorated rooms with modern bathrooms and even an infinity edge swimming
pool. Moreover, croissants and brioche are baked fresh daily!
Wine-Knows has taken over the entire complex.

 |
Medieval hunting lodge of Count Raymond VII
that has been converted into an elegant hotel. Although completely
restored, the 13th century building still maintains
magnificent architectural elements of centuries past with foot thick
walls and leaded glass windows. Rooms, filled with handsome antiques,
are fit for any 21st century Countess or Count.

 |
Secluded hideaway villa
in the center of a picturesque artist colony on the Mediterranean sea.
Filled with antiques, the comfortable old mansion offers a swimming pool
and pretty gardens filled with century old trees for relaxing on the
last stop of the trip.

What culinary experiences will be offered?
|
Dining experiences have
been mindfully selected. Meals will be special culinary events, ranging
from sophisticated Michelin-star restaurants (with tours of their
celebrity chef's kitchens), to wine bars known for their excellent regional
cooking & wine selection.
In addition to carefully chosen restaurants & winemaker dinners, this tour
will feature a cooking class, excursions to premier gourmet food
purveyors, and a visit to one of France’s most famous outdoor markets.

What clothing should I bring?
The tour will be business casual. Men need to bring a sport coat (tie optional)
for the more formal restaurants, & women should plan a similar level of attire
for these evenings. Bring non-skid shoes for visits to wineries...they will be
in the midst of harvest operations & floors will be wet & filled with a variety of
equipment which can cause safety hazards. Also, pack a swimsuit as some of our
hotels have a pool…and our last stop we’ll be on the Mediterranean Sea.

What are my options as a single traveler?
The price is based upon double occupancy.
Should you wish to share a room, every attempt will be made to find you a
roommate (most of the time we have been quite successful in doing so,
however if we are unable to find you a roommate, you will need to pay the
single supplement of $820 US.

How
much free time is available?
We have provided free time as
detailed in the itinerary. Furthermore, it is not mandatory that you
attend all of the planned experiences, although most of our clients do!
This is your trip---if you would rather sleep in, shop, or simply chill
out at a sidewalk café, then do it!
