Italy's Truffle Festival, Lakes Como & Garda
October 16-24, 2026
This tour has strategically been planned to coincide with Piedmont’s legendary White Truffle Festival, one of most important culinary events in Europe. White truffles are the planet’s most expensive gastronomic product. But, Piedmont’s cuisine also includes carnaroli rice (the Ferrari of risotto), and autumn’s funghi porcini (the king of wild mushrooms). It’s no wonder why Piedmont is the birthplace of the Slow Food movement, developed in the 1980’s in outrage of McDonald’s opening in Italy.
Lake Como is one of the jewel boxes in all of Italy. Studded with natural beauty, charming lakeside villages, and a dash of celebrity glamor, magical Como is a favorite for many Italian visitors. Nearby Lake Garda, however, rivals Como with breathtaking landscapes, Renaissance castles and captivating lakeside vibes. This trip will feature two nights on Lake Como, as well as outings to two of Lake Garda’s most charming villages.
Finally, this trip will visit three international super-star wine districts. Piedmont’s distinguished Barolos & Barbarescos are some of the world’s most coveted wines. Franciacorta, which rivals French Champagne, is the hidden premier wine gem in all of Italy. The Valpolicella/Amarone wine region will also be included. These complex, labor-intensive red wines are made just miles from the historic city of Verona.
